Knit Building Blocks
In this class Donna will walk you through knitting 12 different squares by following the patterns in the 'Building Blocks' Booklet, by Michelle Hunter. The booklet is available for sale at the store ($19.99). The class will meet a total of 12 times (learning one block per class) every-other week so you have plenty of time to work on each one before going onto the next. You will be practicing many different stitches, making: baubles, cables, yarn-overs, left and right twists, SSKs, etc. So by the end of this class you will have created a wonderful sampler of patterns that you can then put together to make a blanket, a throw, or use individually as cushion covers if you want.

| Skill Details: | Must know the basics of knitting (casting on, knit stitch, purl stitch, binding off). It is a great next step after the 'Beginner Knitting' class we offer. |
| Requirements: | - Building Blocks book (available for $19.99 in store) - Yarn: Worsted or chunky weight. You will need a total of about 1,400 yards and you may do all blocks in one color, there is a two color version, or a multicolor version (each block in a different color), so you may have anywhere between one to twelve colors of yarn (if using 100g skeins you may need approx. 10 to 12 skeins of the yarn of your preference). Donna will be using Vintage Chunky yarn for this class. - Knitting Needles: Size US 9 or 10 depending on gauge, in straight or circular (24" long) needles. - Notions: scissors, cable needle, tapestry needle, stitch markers. |
