Granny Square Crochet Cardigan

In this class you will learn to make granny squares in the colors of your choice, to then put together into a cardigan of your preferred size and length. You will follow the pattern by Kaitlin Barthold called 'Granny Square Cardigan', available in Ravelry, or through her blog. You can use up to 6 colors of your choice and yarn type to build your ideal feel and look.

Skill Details: | You need to be comfortable with the basics of crocheting: chain stitch, single crochet stitch. |
Requirements: | - Pattern: 'Granny Square Cardigan' by Kaitlin Barthold (available in Ravelry for $5, or through her website for free). - Yarn: DK weight in 1 and up to 5 different colors (to make the granny squares) and another 'main color' to put granny squares together. Amounts will vary depending on size of garment; total yardage needed will be between 1,400 - 3,000 yds. - Crochet hook: 4.5mm hook, or size to obtain gauge. - Notions: scissors, stitch markers, yarn tapestry needle. - Pre-work: make one 5 layer granny square with yarn of choice and hook to obtain gauge (the granny square should measure 4"x4") |
